Born and raised in rural Denmark, now residing in Central Vermont. Classically trained furniture maker and designer, with a lifelong passion for photography.
During my career as a furniture maker I have had the pleasure of making designs by Hans J. Wegner, Paul Kjaerholm, Kaare Klint, Mogens Lassen, Nanna Ditzel, Thomas E. Alken among others and worked/apprenticed at PP Mobler, Rud Rasmussen, The Danish Parlament, DR Koncerthuset, FK Moebeldesign and these days at Maplecorner Woodworks in Barre, VT, where I work as the shop foreman. I’ve continuously worked under my own name and the brand Carve&Sand, under which I produced coffee spoons, drip-stations, espresso stamps and more, which sold at local cafe’s and online.
My woodwork/design has been exhibited at Trapholt, Kolding and Copenhagen Fashionweek and I’ve had my photography work in several publications.
After working in woodworking related jobs for 10 years, I graduated as a journeyman “Moebelsnedker” in 2013, which is a 4 year education, that focuses on traditional furniture making and design. It loosely translates to that of an american cabinetmaker. I’ve since gone back to school twice, to learn designing and programming of CNC’s.
